Pixel 8 Pro Camera Controls for All Tensor Pixels: Here’s How to Get?

Google recently unveiled their all-new Pixel 8 series at the Made by Google event on the 4th of this month. The phones pack impressive hardware, even more than the previous Pixel phones. The Pixel 8 series is also the third Google Pixel series powered by Google’s in-house chip, the Google Tensor. This year, we have the third iteration, named the Tensor G3.

One of the key upgrades we saw this year was in the camera department. There are new and larger sensors with several software-based features. One of these new features is the Pro Controls in the camera app. It allows the user to manually control different camera settings to get the output as per their desired taste.

Exclusive Camera Pro Control Available to Pixel 8 Pro Only

It seems like, at least for now, Google has made this Pro Controls exclusive to the Pixel 8 Pro. Even the vanilla Pixel 8 did not get this feature. And that would have been fine if it required the absolute extreme power of the phone to work. But it does not. Most modern-day phones can handle it just fine. So, this decision by Google has left users disappointed, and rightfully so.

Camera Pro Control

Luckily, an X user, @Za_Raczker, has found a way to get the Pro Controls working on any Tensor-powered Pixel. That includes the following devices.

  • Pixel 6
  • Pixel 6 Pro
  • Pixel 6a
  • Pixel 7
  • Pixel 7 Pro
  • Pixel 7a
  • Pixel 8

How to Get?

The first thing you must do to get the Pro Control on any of these Pixel phones is get the Google Camera APK file for the Pixel 8. After that, you have to force enable this feature. And that is it; you will be good to go.

The user also shared some instances of using the feature on their Pixel 7 Pro. And according to that user, it works perfectly fine and offers greater flexibility while using the camera.

Pro Control

However, you may not have to worry if you cannot do this for any reason. There are strong chances that older Tensor-powered Google Pixel phones may get the Pro Controls in a feature drop in the coming months.
