Pixel devices Auto-Rotate issue

Pixel 7 and Pixel 6 Users are Facing Auto Rotate and Tap To Wake Issues

The Search Engine Tech Giant recently released its Google Pixel 7 series in India on October 6. The series (Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro) is better at facing fewer bugs and issues than its predecessors. The Google Pixel series has always been cursed with many bugs, but the current Pixel 7 series has few bugs and faces minor ones such as Camera Stopping, Battery Drain, etc. The respective bug has caused irritation and fright to the owners of Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series users.

Rumors are surfacing around the web about the latest bug, and the affected users have written their arguments on various social media platforms like Reddit and Twitter. The bugs are manually setting auto rotate while running YouTube, swiping up from the bottom of the screen on YouTube, resulting in the image automatically turning out into landscape mode, the Modem not working, the Tap to Wake feature not working, etc. However, we also have grievances about the problems mentioned above by the user.

A Redditor stated that YouTube videos auto-rotate, not responding, “I play a video in the app, rotate into the landscape, and it stays in portrait until I hit the rotate button in the corner of the video. After that, the auto rotate will respond for a bit until I close the app, reopen it and try another video, then it goes unresponsive again.”

Several Reddit and Twitter users have joined hands with the same problems on their other Pixel 6 or Pixel 7 series of smartphones.

The issue of automatically turning images into landscape mode is also widespread in social media, and users are frustrated about it. About the modem problem, one user complained on Reddit that whenever he goes out to an area with no cellular service, his Modem doesn’t work. However, he has tried turning ON and OFF the airplane mode manually, which resolved the issue, though it is irritating. Also, the problem of the Tap to Wake feature not working is common with consumers. The users are not able to use the feature properly or not able to use it at all. A Reddit user confirms the grievance about the same.

It is important to note that some of the issues of the above solution might be related to Android OS. It may not be to Google Pixel smartphones, as the Auto Rotate bug has been seen surfacing more around Android smartphones than on pixels. So, it is better not to blame the company. Also, the significant issues available on the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro have now been resolved, and some of the minor countable problems remain to be solved and will get solved with time, along with the updates.

Talking about the workarounds, there are no official statements by the company. Still, some users have tried general troubleshooting methods, which you should follow if you are not immune to the bugs. Follow the following methods and see if that works:

  • Reboot your device and see if that helps you get your tap-to-wake bug fixed. This is the most effective method and works the majority of the time. You should try the same and let us know if that helped.

We hope the article has provided a workable solution to your problems. Talking about them, what issues are you facing in your Pixel 6 or Pixel 7 series of smartphones? Do tell us in the comments section below.
