Oppo F5 With thin Bezels Leaks in Videos and Pictures

Oppo has been gearing up for the launch of an F series smartphone. The Chinese smartphone maker recently launched the Oppo F3 Diwali Edition in India at Rs 18,990. Now, it is all set up to release the successor of Oppo F3, Oppo F5. After many leaks and teased images, we now know how it looks.

Just days ago, ABS-CBN artists were teased using the Oppo F5. Last week, another picture popped up showing the device. Now, a bunch of images has appeared on the website Slashleaks. These images appear to have been taken from an Oppo F5 ad in China, though the video is nowhere to be found. No worries, we got what we wanted.

At first look, it looks like Vivo V7+. Even their camera placement is also the same. The fingerprint sensor shape differs a bit. The Oppo’s is a bit round-ish, whereas the Vivo’s is square-ish. This will be the first Oppo device to feature a back fingerprint sensor. The side bezels are incredibly narrow, the corners are rounded, and the edges are curved. The top bezel features the front camera and the earpiece. The bottom bezel, however, has nothing. The right side houses the power button, while the left holds the volume rocker and SIM tray.

The rear sports a 20 MP single-lens camera and an LED flash beside it. The front camera is a 16 MP dual camera setup. Based on the photos at Star Magic Ball 2017, the pictures look pretty decent, but we have no reports of the modes that will be available on it. Based on the size, the screen appears to be 6 inches with an 18:9  aspect ratio. Other rumored specifications point to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Unlike the Oppo F3, which has a MediaTek processor, the Oppo F5 will probably feature the Snapdragon 660 chipset and a 4,000mAh battery. Till now, we have only seen the device in red and black variants.

An Indian user, @mukesh_krsna, announced on Twitter that the device would cost Rs 21,999 in the Indian market. At that price, it will face heavy competition from the Vivo V7+ and the Honor 9i, which have four cameras. While there is no word, the device is expected to be released with Android Nougat (7.0).

The Oppo ad campaign, which uses the hashtag #CaptureTheRealYou, confirms that the phone will be released in October 2017 in the Philippines. An alleged rumor claims it will be on the 26th.
