One UI is a user interface developed by Samsung Electronics for their smartphones. The UI is for all Galaxy smartphones running Android 9 “Pie” and later. It was announced in 2018 at the Samsung Developer Conference alongside the Galaxy S10 Series, Galaxy Fold, and Galaxy Buds.
After its unveiling in February 2019 with the devices mentioned above, One UI saw an instant success. The success was due to a massive improvement over the previously heavily criticized Samsung Experience software.
Some of the key changes One UI brought over Samsung Experience are as follows:
- A cleaner and more minimalistic software design
- Larger fonts and icons for better visibility
- More consistent design language across all Samsung apps
- Redesigned notifications panel, dark mode, etc.

And now, to utilize this faster AI to its maximum efficiency, Samsung will add plenty of new AI features with its upcoming One UI 6.1 software. He also claimed that the company might unveil a more powerful voice assistant than their current “Bixby.” One UI 6 brings changes to the Quick Toggles and contains improvements to the UI animations. With One UI 6, you can sync specific home and lock screen combos to particular wallpapers.
The reports also suggest that the marketing for the Galaxy S24 series will focus on AI-powered features. This also indicates a chance of Samsung marketing the S24 series as AI-focused phones, similar to how many people buy Pixels for the AI features. If the AI scores mean anything significant, the NPU might beat the Tensor G3, bringing many useful AI features to One UI.
There is a chance for this because Samsung has talked a lot about Generative-AI in the Exynos 2400 announcement. With the recent Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro, Google began slowly integrating AI into the core UI experience, starting with Bard. Google Assistant will now use AI to give you better answers.
