Nokia 3310 4G Feature Phone (TA-1077) and TA-1062 Gets 3C Certification; Launch Imminent

A week ago, two Nokia-branded devices with model number TA-1077 and TA-1062 was approved by the state radio regulation of China. The model TA-1077 is speculated to be the Nokia 3310 4G, and the TA-1062 is still unknown. However, there is no official word for it. These two Nokia phones received 3C certification in China on 25 December 2017.

This 3C certification of Nokia TA-1077 and TA-1062 hints that the devices may launch soon in China. There is not much information about the specs or its looks, but it’s confirmed that the phones will support 4G LTE. Even it’s not sure whether the Nokia TA-1062 will be a 3310 4G variant or another device. But the listings mention that the phone will support charging at 5V 3A, 9V 2A, and 12V 1.5A, which hints that it will support fast charging. This will likely be another smartphone since the Nokia TA-1077 only supports 5V 550mA charging.

HMD Global announced earlier that it would not bring the 3G Nokia 3310 to India. According to them, the local market lacks interest in 3G phones. They released the 3G-enabled version in Australia and apps like Facebook, Twitter, and Skype. Nokia has four feature phones in the Indian market, including the newly launched Nokia 3310, but none have 4G support.

Ajay Mehta India VP for HMD Global was seen commenting “Feature phone is a critical category, and we see operators as a partner here. There is a sizeable volume in this segment, roughly 10 million devices monthly. Nokia has traditionally been strong here, and there is a huge opportunity.”

After mentioning the Reliance JioPhone, he said a device may be expected soon and could be coming in months. He also remarked, “We are working on it; we are talking to Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone for 4G VOLTE devices. We are exploring all opportunities “. He is likely talking about the Nokia 3310 4G, which will target countries like India, which has recently seen a massive expansion in the 4G market. According to a report, India is set to displace the US as the world’s second-largest 4G mobile handset market after China by next year.
