For the past couple of months, we have been hearing rumors about the ultra-thin iPhone—apparently the iPhone 17 Air. It could replace the iPhone 17 Plus in 2025.
Now some fresh renders of the iPhone 17 Air have surfaced online, suggesting a radical design shift for Apple’s smartphone lineup.
Jon Prosser from FrontPageTech claimed to have seen the final version of the iPhone 17 Air, and based on this, Zellzoi (@zellzoi) recreated some renders of the device. Prosser said the phone is so thin that the USB-C port cannot be centered along the Y-axis. Instead, it is positioned closer to the back of the phone than the front.

We can see the new iPhone 17 Air sports a design reminiscent of the Google Pixel—a prominent rectangular camera bar on the rear. Interestingly, this design does not align with Apple’s traditional multi-camera setups. Rumor has it that the phone could house a single 48-megapixel camera.
In addition, the iPhone 17 Air could feature the base A19 chip instead of the more powerful A19 Pro, which has been reserved for premium models only.
Speaking of its ultra-thin body, the iPhone 17 Air might have an incredibly thin body, measuring between 5.5mm and 6mm. This suggests it will take the crown of Apple’s thinnest iPhones ever.

As far as the launch is concerned, the iPhone 17 Air will likely be announced at Apple’s upcoming annual iPhone event, which is typically held in September. In the meantime, we may hear more details about its design and specifications, so stay connected with us.
