The iPhone 14 series was launched late last year. They were a pretty incremental upgrade over the 13 series. Now that it’s been almost a year since the launch of the 14 series, it means the 15 series is right around the corner.
The iPhone 15 series is expected to bring upgrades across the entire lineup. This year, all the models are expected to have a dynamic Island.
For performance, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will have last year’s A16 Bionic chip, while the Pro models will have the latest A17 Bionic chip.
In terms of cameras, all four models are expected to have a 48MP sensor, followed by a 12MP Ultra-wide for the iPhone 15 and 15 plus. The pro models will get an extra 12MP telephoto camera with 5x or 6x optical zooming capabilities.
Every year, besides the phone, Apple also releases many accessories. However, this year, Apple won’t release their official leather cases. Duan Rui, who shares iPhone leaks from Chinese Social media, made a tweet on this. Rui’s tweet said, “I’ve heard that Apple won’t be releasing a Leather Case for the iPhone 15 series.” To back this claim up, 9to5Mac has also reported similar claims with their sources.
If this leak is true, then it’s a piece of sad news for Apple fans who liked the leather cases. The leather cases have been on sale with every iPhone since the iPhone 5s and cost between $59 to $129.
Apple’s official case lineup will only have Silicon cases with the leather case gone. Although, it’s rumored that Apple is finding another High-end alternative to replace the leather cases. Apple will likely switch to faux leather, which looks and feels similar to genuine leather.
If Apple doesn’t officially release any alternative for the leather case, its lovers would have to look at options from third-party manufacturers.
