Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra and S9 Plus to feature 45W fast charging, according to TUV certification

Samsung and Apple are the two prominent technology brands not utilizing the era of fast charging speeds, where some of the Android OEMs have already reached 240W in actual life practices. Samsung Smartphones or Tablets have a maximum of 45W fast charging capabilities for their premium offerings, too, which will possibly be carried for the upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 Series.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series will have three models: the Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9 Plus, and the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra.

According to rumours, the Galaxy Tab S9 series will launch in July alongside the upcoming foldables: the Galaxy Z Fold 5 & the Galaxy Z Flip 5. From the TUV Rheinland certification platform database, the fast charging capabilities for the upcoming top models of the Galaxy Tab S9 series have been revealed.

The TUV Rheinland platform has only approved the top models, i.e., Galaxy Tab S9 Plus and S9 Ultra. The standard variant remains under the hood. Below are the model number details of the devices expected to arrive with the series:

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 will have the following model numbers:

  • SM-X716B.
  • SM-X710.
  • SM-X718U.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus will have the following model numbers:

  • SM-X816B.
  • SM-X810.
  • SM-X816N.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra will have the following model numbers:

  • SM-X916B.
  • SM-X910.
  • SM-X916N.

Excluding the standard variant, the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus and the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra have been confirmed by the TUV Rheinland platform to feature 45W (10V/4.5A) fast charging, the same as the Galaxy Tab S8 series. Considering the standard has not yet been certified on the platform, we are unsure about its charging capabilities. But compared to last year’s Tab S8, the Galaxy Tab S9 is also expected to feature the same 45W fast charging as the other models.

As we know, the company doesn’t provide a charger inside the box due to environmental concerns, and the predecessor series also arrived with a no-charger out-of-the-box; the Galaxy Tab S9 series is also expected to come without a charger inside the box.

Compared to the previous generation, the Galaxy Tab S9 series is expected to come with reduced thickness, possibly on all the variants, and a display notch on the Ultra variant. The Tab S9 series will feature the exclusive Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, explicitly designed for their tablets. The minimum RAM and storage are expected to be 8GB and 128GB, respectively. The maximum RAM and storage are expected to be 12GB and 512GB, respectively. Also, all the models will feature a 120Hz variable refresh rate with a Super OLED screen, unlike the previous year’s Tab S8 with a TFT LCD screen.

Going through history, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series will possibly launch in the next Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled on July 26. The event will comprise the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 5, the Galaxy Z Flip 5, the Galaxy Watch 6 series, the Galaxy Buds 3 earbuds, and likely the Galaxy Tab S9 series.

We will update the post if the TUV Rheinland certification platform approves the standard variant (Tab S8) and confirms the 45W fast charging support, so make sure to be connected with us.
