The Galaxy A series was reformed in 2019. The company launched a brand new naming scheme for the lineup in the reform.
A10 being the cheapest and A90 being the most expensive (A90 wasn’t as widely available, however). The most popular model of the entire lineup was the Galaxy A50 because it was the middle ground.
This trend continued with the same applying to A51, A52, A53 and A54. The A55 of this year will also likely follow the same trend of being the best seller among the A lineup.
However, every phone has its pros and cons. For a while, many people wanted an upgrade in the camera hardware of the A5x lineup. Looks like Samsung listened to the feedback and gave an upgrade (somewhat).
Samsung Galaxy A56 to get a camera upgrade
As per GalaxyClub report, the Galaxy A56 will likely have the same rear cameras as the Galaxy A55, which means 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, and 5MP macro.
The selfie camera, however, is going to be upgraded. Since late 2019, it has been the same 32MP selfie snapper in the A5x lineup that debuted with the A51. The A56 is finally going to be upgraded to a new 12MP lens.
Although the megapixels make it look like a downgrade on a surface level, other aspects, like the sensor size of the new sensor, are going to be better, resulting in much better selfies.
Sadly, this is the only camera upgrade the phone is receiving. The rear camera hardware is also due for an upgrade for quite a while now. The sensor sizes of the rear lenses are getting outdated compared to the competition.
Additionally, many have wanted a telephoto in the A5x lineup for quite a while now. Perhaps anyone who wants these changes can try waiting for the A57 and hoping for the best.
