Chinese smartphone manufacturer Sharp launched the AQUOS S3 smartphone on April 1 in Taiwan. But the company today sent the invites for the launch of a higher variant of the AQUOS S3. The teaser mentions it will be launched on June 7. The device comes with model number FS8015 and previously cleared NCC certification on May 25.
The AQUOS S3 High Edition will feature the same looks as the Standard Edition but will be upgraded from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 to a Snapdragon 660 chipset. The RAM will also be upgraded from 4 GB to 6 GB while the internal specs are increased from 64 GB to 128 GB.

Though the Wireless charging feature didn’t make it to the AQUOS S3, the higher variant seems compatible with wireless charging compliant with the Qi standard formulated by the Wireless Power Consortium.
The other specs are expected to resemble the regular variant, featuring a 6-inch display with FHD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) resolution. It had an aspect ratio 18:9 and a stunning screen-to-body ratio of 91%. The rear sports a dual camera setup of 13MP + 12MP configuration, while the front offers a 16MP camera. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo and is backed by a 3200 mAh battery. It supported VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, and a rear fingerprint sensor.
The pricing would be significantly increased, and looking at the flagship-level specs, we can expect it to be priced in the higher-end segment. Currently, there is no other information regarding other specs or smartphone availability. We will be covering more from the event on June 7.
