Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Specs & Design: Everything We Know So Far

Samsung is planning to launch its next flagship tablet called Galaxy Tab S6. It is expected that the company will announce the Galaxy Tab S6 on August 7 alongside the Galaxy Note 10 series. The company will skip the Galaxy Tab S5 moniker to avoid confusion with the previously launched tablet, which was dubbed Galaxy Tab S5e.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Design

Recently, AndroidHeadlines has gotten the official press renders of the Galaxy Tab S6 that show us its design. The Galaxy Tab S6 sports a metal unibody design and a large display with slim bezels. On the back, we see the dual-camera setup and a magnetic charging dock, which is used to charge the S Pen wirelessly by the tablet. A power button and volume keys are seen on the right side of the frame. There is no fingerprint sensor on the device, which hints at face unlock or an in-display fingerprint sensor. The headphone jack is not visible. However, Samsung will offer four AKG-tune speakers (two on the top and two on the bottom) for the stereo sound experience. You can also connect the Tab S6 with a keyboard accessory that will be sold separately. The tablet will launch with three color options: Blue, Grey, and Pink.

Galaxy Tab S6 Specifications

Talking about its rumored specifications, the Galaxy Tab S6 will feature a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display, and for security, it will offer an in-display fingerprint sensor. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor will power the tablet. There will be two memory configurations: 6GB of RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB of RAM + 256GB storage. There will be an external memory card support option that expands storage up to 512GB.

For photography, we have two cameras on the rear; the 1st one is with a 13MP primary sensor, and the second is a 5MP ultra-wide sensor. For selfies, we get an 8MP sensor on the front.

Other features include the call and message continuity feature Bixby Voice assistant to control the tablet through voice commands.

Battery Capacity: Lower than its Predecessor?

Recently, the model SM-T860, which is believed to be the Galaxy Tab S6, has passed NCC certification, revealing its battery capacity and charging capability.

The NCC listing shows that the charger model for Galaxy Tab S6 is EP-TA200. We have found that the model EP-TA200 is Samsung’s Adaptive Fast Charger. It has the same power rating as Quick Charge 2.0 and tops at 15W. The documents attached with the NCC certificate also reveal that the Galaxy Tab S6 will be backed by a 6840 mAh battery with support for 15W (9V/1.67A) fast charging. Currently, we can’t confirm whether the battery capacity shown on the document is rated or typical.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 has a 7300 mAh battery (Typical). But, the upcoming Galaxy Tab S6’s battery capacity will be lower than its predecessor. The company may make the device thinner by sacrificing its battery capacity. Time will tell.

How Much Will the Galaxy Tab S6 Cost?

As for the pricing, currently, there is no information. Its predecessor, Galaxy Tab S4, was launched with a price tag of $650 for the base variant. Considering this and the abovementioned specs, we expect the starting price for the Galaxy Tab S6 to be $750.
