This year, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 was a huge success. Xiaomi is preparing for the next successor, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. It’s not the first leak of the device. Last week, the device specs and an image were leaked.
The previous leak shows the device followed the bezel-less trend, making it the cheapest Xiaomi phone to feature this. The other included feature was a dual-camera setup on the back: a 16-megapixel camera and a 5-megapixel.
Now, Qualcomm has unveiled its new mid-range platform, the Snapdragon 636, which is placed between the Snapdragon 630 and Snapdragon 660. According to a new leak posted on Weibo (Chinese Social media platform) by a user @grass grass, the Xiaomi Redmi may feature this chipset.
From the previous leaks, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 packs an edge-to-edge 5.5-inch FHD+ resolution display ( 18:9 aspect ratio), 4 GB of RAM, and backed by a 4,0000 mAh battery and will be powered by a Snapdragon 660 or MediaTek Helio P25 SoC. It is rumored to come in Gold, Black, and Grey colors.
In a flashback, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 was launched in January with a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS LCD powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and Adreno 506GPU. It was available in three variants: 2 GB RAM and 32 GB memory, 3 GB RAM and 32 GB memory, and 4 GB RAM and 64 GB memory. The starting price was Rs 9,999, followed by Rs 10,999 and Rs 12,999. It sports a 13-megapixel with LED on the back and a 5-megapixel camera on the front. It was backed by a 4,100 mAh battery.
Based on the rumors, the Xiaomi Note 5 will be one of the hottest smartphones next year. Xiaomi is looking to keep its tradition of giving premium features at an affordable price.
