Xiaomi is reportedly planning to launch two new selfie-centric smartphones possibly Xiaomi CC9 and Xiaomi CC9e in collaboration with Meitu. Recently, a more reliable leak has come forwards from tipster Mukul Sharma revealing the details (via two different tweets 1 | 2) of the different variants that will be available for these new devices. Also, last week, an alleged specs sheet of CC9e surfaced online revealing its key details.
A teaser poster of the upcoming Xiaomi Metiu phone reveals that it will arrive with Asus 6z like flip cameras.
As per leaked information, Xiaomi CC9 will sport a waterdrop notch AMOLED display, while the dimensions of the display are not revealed in this leak. On top of it, we get the two 2019 features, first being the in-display fingerprint sensor and the other being a 48 MP rear camera. It will probably sport the triple camera set up at the back, like the Mi 9. Since selfie camera is the selling point of this device, we get a whopping 32 MP selfie shooter. Under the hood, we have the more than capable Snapdragon 730 with a 4,000 mAh battery to power the smartphone. The phone also supports 27W quick charging to fill up the battery quicker than other similar priced phones. Now as for pricing, the leaks suggest a 6GB + 64GB variant priced at 2,499 yuan, a 8GB + 128GB variant priced at 2,799 yuan and a 8GB + 256GB variant priced at 3,099 yuan.
Xiaomi CC9e will sport a 6.3 inch IPS display with a waterdrop notch housing a 32 MP selfie shooter. For the rear side, we have the similar 48 MP primary shooter. As per some leaks, it will be a triple lens setup with 13MP and 8MP additional lenses. We have no news on the processor but it will be a lower sibling of the Snapdragon 730, which is present in the higher CC9 variant. This phone also packs in a 4,000 mAh battery but with only support 18W fast charging. As for the variants we have information about a 6GB + 64GB variant which will be priced at 1,599 yuan.
Notably, a Xiaomi phone with model number M1904F3BC/T which is believed to be the Xiaomi CC9e received the 3C certification hinting at its imminent launch. As per the 3C listing, the phone includes a charger with a model number MDY-10-EC, which carries support for 18W fast charging.
Last year we witnessed Xiaomi acquiring China’s selfie based smartphone company Meitu, and these new devices might actually be a result of this collaboration. Despite all this, we have to take this news with a pinch of salt, as all these are just rumours and nothing certain is said or revealed by the company yet.
