Xiaomi Blackshark Gaming Smartphone Spotted in Antutu

The new BlackShark is likely a gaming centric smartphone from the company

After the launch of the Redmi 5 series, Chinese smartphone manufacturer is gearing up for the launch of a new device. A new smartphone from the company has appeared in benchmarking website Antutu. The device dubbed “Blackshark’ though doesn’t directly mention the company’s name, we know from the fact that Black Shark Technology Incorporated is owned by Xiaomi.

According to the Antutu listing, the” unknown” Blackshark smartphone will feature a display with FHD+( 2160 x 1080 pixel) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 coupled with 8 GB RAM and 32 GB storage and likely to feature expandable memory options through micro SD card. There is also a good possibility the smartphone will be available in either 64 GB or 128 GB internal memory variants. It will run on Android 8.0 Oreo.

Currently, there is no other information about the device, but from the available specs, we can say it will be a flagship level smartphone. Interestingly Xiaomi is rumoured to be working on a gaming-centric smartphone to take against the likes of Razer phone. And the high amount of RAM and top-notch chipset exactly points into the direction. If it’s true, the Blackshark smartphone may feature a 120 Hz display like the Razer smartphone to deliver a seamless gaming experience.

Unfortunately, Antutu doesn’t reveal any score for single core and multi-core tests but reveals a total point score on which the smartphone scored a whopping 270680 points, that’s par with the upcoming Nubia NX606J or another smartphone its range. It’s even greater than the Samsung S9+ score of 2,65,267.

The smartphone may make an appearance in the MWC( Mobile World Congress) 2018 event scheduled to be held in Barcelona, Spain at the end of this month. This smartphone will compete against the Razer smartphone and also the gaming smartphone ASUS is rumoured to be working on.
