Xiaomi Blackshark Gaming Smartphone Spotted in Antutu

After the Redmi 5 series launch, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is gearing up to launch a new device. A new smartphone from the company has appeared on the benchmarking website Antutu. The device is dubbed “Blackshark’ though it doesn’t directly mention the company’s name; we know from the fact that Xiaomi owns Black Shark Technology Incorporated.

According to the Antutu listing, the” unknown” Blackshark smartphone will feature a display with FHD+( 2160 x 1080 pixel) resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 coupled with 8 GB RAM and 32 GB storage and is likely to feature expandable memory options through micro SD card. There is also a good possibility the smartphone will be available in either 64 GB or 128 GB internal memory variants. It will run on Android 8.0 Oreo.

Currently, there is no other information about the device, but from the available specs, we can say it will be a flagship-level smartphone. Interestingly, Xiaomi is rumored to be working on a gaming-centric smartphone to take against the likes of the Razer phone. And the high amount of RAM and top-notch chipset exactly points in the direction. If true, the Blackshark smartphone may feature a 120 Hz display like the Razer smartphone to deliver a seamless gaming experience.

Unfortunately, Antutu doesn’t reveal any score for single-core and multi-core tests but reveals a total point score on which the smartphone scored a whopping 270680 points, which is par with the upcoming Nubia NX606J or another smartphone in its range. It’s even more significant than the Samsung S9+ score of 2,65,267.

The smartphone may appear in the MWC( Mobile World Congress) 2018 event scheduled in Barcelona, Spain, at the end of this month. This smartphone will compete against the Razer smartphone and the gaming smartphone ASUS is rumored to be working on.
