Xiaomi Announces List of Devices that will be Getting the MIUI 10

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi unveiled the latest MIUI 10 in its Annual launch event along with the Mi 8, Mi 8 SE, and Mi Band 3. The Mi 8 flagship is the first smartphone to come preloaded with this version, but frets, not the other smartphones, will also be received eventually. Xiaomi isn’t the company known for regularly updating old smartphones.

The company today released a list of its Redmi models that will be getting the MIUI 10 update. The new information is made via their official MIUI Forum. The models include the Redmi Note 5, Redmi S2, Redmi 5, Redmi 5 Plus, Redmi 5A, Redmi Note 5A, Redmi 4X, Redmi Note 4X, Redmi 4A, Redmi 4, Redmi Note 4, Redmi Pro, Redmi 3S, Redmi 3X and the Redmi Note 3 Full Network version launched back two years ago.

Currently, there is no timeline for the Global rollout of the update. In China, the Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi S2 will be getting the MIUI 10 update, while the other models will have to wait until the end of July to get the update.

The new MIUI 10 focuses on AI and Machine learning, which will make a lot of processes automatic by predicting real-world decisions. The new version will be adapted according to your usage habits and divert the power to a certain set of apps. This will mean less lag, faster navigation, more power, and efficiency. There is a new vertically scrollable recent menu that takes advantage of the tall 18:9 displays, a lot of gestures that resemble Android P, and a ride mode which the voice assistant can control. The optics also get an upgrade even if it is a single camera; the Bokeh effect is available now on old models like the Xiaomi Mi 5 and Xiaomi Note 2. The new edition also brings a new driving mode, smart home gadget manager, and a flurry of improvements over the current MIUI 9, and faster performance is one of them.
