Xiaomi is expected to release Android 13 based on MIUI 13, MIUI 13.5, and MIUI 14 by the end of this year or 2023. The Chinese company is currently rolling out MIUI 13 based on Android 12 to several Xiaomi (Mi)/Redmi/POCO devices. But many Xiaomi devices are still launching with Android 11 out of the box, making it seem like Android 13 is very far. However, rumors about the Android 13 update have already turned.

Google recently released Android 13 for pixel devices, giving us a look at Android 13 features. These features will likely come to Android 13 on MIUI as well. So, many MIUI users might be wondering if their device will get the Android 13 update or not. Read more to find out.

Xiaomi Android 13 Update Tracker

November 8: Xiaomi 12 Pro is the first Xiaomi smartphone to receive the Android 13 stable build. The update comes with build number V13.2.4.0.TLBCNXM. It also brings MIUI version 13.2 and the October 2022 security patch. Currently, Xiaomi 12 Pro-Chinese units are eligible for the update.

August 15: The Android 13 stable version is now official. Xiaomi’s MIUI account has confirmed that the MIUI 13-based Android 13 beta is available for Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro handsets. However, only the first 200 users for each model can experience the new OS. Xiaomi 12 carries version 13.0.4.0 TLCMIXM, while the Xiaomi 12 Pro has MIUI 13.0.4.0 TLBMIXM.

June 8: Google has started rolling out Android 13 Beta 3 with Platform Stability for supported Pixel phones.

May 12: Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi Pad 5 are available for the Android 13 Developer Preview Program. You must use the Fastboot flash method to install the Developer Preview firmware.

Xiaomi tends to release major Android updates to its newer devices first and then the rest. The Flagship Mi 12 series and Redmi K50 series will be the first devices to receive the Android 13 update. There is no official information regarding the release date or eligible devices list from Xiaomi yet. Google announced Android 13 on May 11 at Google I/O 2022.

We can expect almost all the Xiaomi (Mi)/Redmi/POCO phones released in 2021 to receive the Android 13 update. We can also expect older Xiaomi flagship devices to receive the update. Other budget and mid-range Xiaomi devices may also get the update.

When will Xiaomi release the Android 13 update?

Xiaomi announced the Android 13 developer preview program on May 11, 2022. However, the beta program is only available for some of its latest phones, including the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro. The brand released the Android 13 stable build for Xiaomi 12 Pro on November 8, 2022, in China. Currently, Xiaomi has not shared the release timeline for other Xiaomi phones.

  1. I wish my redmi 10c gets miui 14. I’m really sick of these messenger bubbles instead of the circle, it’s a square, and it’s not working really well.
