Vivo X20 Plus In-Screen Fingerprint Edition Launched with Under Display Fingerprint Display

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo has increased its portfolio by launching the Vivo X20 Plus In-Screen Fingerprint, also known as Vivo X20 Plus UD. You are right; it is the world’s first smartphone to feature a fingerprint sensor embedded under its display. Apart from the fingerprint sensor, the rest of the specs are the same as the regular version. It measures 165.2x 80.02 x 7.35 mm and weighs 183.1 g, with slight differences from the regular model.

The Vivo X20 Plus In-Screen Fingerprint edition sports a 6.43-inch Super AMOLED display with a 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The fingerprint lies between the front glass and display panel and is developed by Synaptics. According to Vivo, the RGB Pixel, specially adapted to the OLED panel, emits light using photoelectric reflection technology. This light penetrates the outer glass, which has a thickness of 0.68 mm. The company claims the in-screen sensor only takes 0.6 to 0.7 to unlock the phone. The user can unlock the smartphone without even lifting the phone by pressing the on-screen fingerprint icon. Apart from this feature, the sensor also can be used for making transactions through AliPay and WeChat.

It offers support for fast charging and has Face Wake facial recognition features, along with Vivo Game Engine, to improve the gameplay experience. It also has dual app support and ES9318 DAC+ combo amp Hi-Fi audio. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Dual SIM support, Bluetooth 5.0, and more.
