As an official FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 Sponsor, Vivo reveals the special edition handset created for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. 32 teams have been announced at the handover ceremony which was held on 1 December at the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow. On that ceremony, Vivo announced “Vivo X20 FIFA World Cup Russia 2018” special edition and it received much attention.
On behalf of Vivo, the tournament’s official smartphone sponsor, brand director Deng Li presented FIFA secretary-general Fatma Samoura with a new X20 smartphone on the handover ceremony for FIFA committee official smartphone.
The Vivo X20, Vivo’s flagship smartphone, was launched in China in September and its customized edition adopts simple and refine design. From the below image, we see, “FIFA World Cup Russia 2018” logo is printed on the phone’s back.
Vivo X20 comes with a 6.01-inch screen size and has a screen-to-body ratio of 85.3 percent. The phone comes with Face Wake face recognition feature which claims to unlock the device within 0.1 seconds. The phone also has fingerprint scanner at the rear. The rear also sports dual camera each with a resolution of 12MP. The device is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage capacity. Also, X20 built-in “Vivo Game Engine” that greatly improves game-play even for very demanding games.
Vivo signed a six-year deal with FIFA in May to sponsor the 2018 and 2022 World Cup tournaments as part of its strategy to boost global exposure. Vivo X20 will be introduced to the Russian market in December 2017.
