Swipe Elite Pro 4G VoLTE Launched at Rs 6,999; Snapdeal Exclusive

Swipe Elite Pro’s battery capacity disappoints us with just 2500mAh

Indian manufacturer Swipe announced the launch of a new smartphone in its ELITE series. Dubbed as the “ELITE PRO” the device is 4G enabled. According to Shirpal Gandhi, Founder and CEO of Swipe Technologies the device is is power packed with features which stand on their promise of delivering true quality at the true value of money. True to his word, the Swipe Elite Pro’s specs look better than the alternatives in that price range.

From the looks of it, the Swipe Elite Pro feels premium with its edge-to-edge screen. The device sports 5 inch IPS HD (1280 x 720) screen. A full HD (1,920 x 1,080) would have been better considering the other devices in this price range.  The device sports a plastic body along with a fingerprint sensor on the back. The fingerprint sensor can also lock any app or files when required. From the ad it looks, it will be available in a white variant.

Under the hood, it has a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, but it is not specified. It is most likely to be Snapdragon 425 SoC considering the price range. Along with that, we are getting 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 64GB by microSD card. Comparatively, the other device in the price segment mostly features 2GB RAM along with 16GB internal storage.

The device sports a 13MP camera with an LED flash on the top left a corner of the back side. On the front, the device has an 8MP camera for video calling and selfies.

Now two features that should have been better are the operating system and the battery. The Swipe Elite Pro has a battery backup of 2500mAh which is not enough to run the whole day on a moderate-heavy use. Also, Swipe’s decision of using Android Marshmallow (6.0) is disappointing since every device nowadays features Android Nougat (7.0) and Android Oreo (8.0) is to be released soon.

The device is priced at Rs 6.999 which will put it up against the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 4/Redmi 4A, Infocus Turbo 5, Micromax  Evok Power, Moto C Plus, Yu Yunique 2 Plus. Yes, the device may feature more RAM, but it fails in the battery department where the top competitors like the Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Moto C Plus feature a 4000mAh battery.

The device is for the Indian customers who want a good looking phone with decent specs without spending too much. Commenting on the launch the CEO and founder Shirpal  Gandhi said “The ELITE Pro is a testament to Swipe’s determination to set new benchmarks for affordable smartphones category. The mightier, stronger and stylish Swipe ELITE Pro is power packed with features that stand on our promise of delivering true quality at the true value of money. It’s a perfect device for the growing tech-savvy consumers and associating with Snapdeal; we are hoping to reach out to more people in tier 2,3 and four cities.”

The Swipe Elite Pro will be exclusively available online on Snapdeal from 8th October 2017, 00:01 hours.
