The sensor becomes a bit controversial when some known tech bloggers claim that it’s the Sony IMX766 only. The normal users are confused about whether it’s the rebadged Sony IMX766 sensor or whether IMX766V is really a different sensor. And now, the company has officially responded to the statement, solving the doubts of many users. Vivo’s product manager, Han Bo Xiao, on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo via MyDrivers, has said that the Sony IMX766V isn’t similar to Sony IMX766, but it comes with some tweaks done by Vivo for better performance in photography; it is Vivo’s custom revision of the image sensor.

The sensor utilized in the iQOO 8 Pro features a 1/1.56-inch big base, enables PDAF focusing, and has an aperture of f/1.75, according to reports. However, it is worth mentioning that the post was deleted later without giving any reason. As for the specifications, it has a 6.78-inches 2K E5 AMOLED LTPO display with a 120Hz refresh rate; it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ processor paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. It has a 4500mAh battery coupled with a 120W fast wired charging. For photography, it has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera and a 50MP+48MP+16MP triple rear camera setup at the back.
