Snapdragon 875 Spotted on Geekbench; Achieved 23% Higher Points than Predecessor

We’re now just weeks away from Qualcomm Tech Summit 2020, scheduled to start from December 1. The next-generation Snapdragon 875 SoC is expected to be unveiled at this event. However, ahead of its launch today, a Snapdragon 875-powered device has been spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking platform, revealing some of its key details as well as benchmark scores.

An unknown Xiaomi M2012K11C phone (Possibly Mi 11) has been listed on the Geekbench website with the motherboard “Haydn.” However, from the source code of the benchmark listing, we can confirm that the processor is an upcoming Snapdragon 875. We found its CPU core configuration, Clock Speed, and GPU as follows:

  • Core Arrangement: 1+3+4
  • CPU: 1 Core @ 2.84 GHz + 3 Core @ 2.42 GHz + 4 Core @ 1.80 GHz
  • GPU: Adreno 660

875 geekbench specs

Recently, tipster Digital Chat Station has also said that the Snapdragon 875 will pack a single Cortex-X1 super powerful core at 2.84 GHz, three less powerful but still very capable 2.4 GHz Cortex-A78 cores, and four Cortex-A55 performance cores at 1.80 GHz.

We can see that the core clock speeds of both the Snapdragon 875 and its predecessor 865 are the same. Also, both SoCs use a tri-cluster design (1+3+4 distribution) with an octa-core setup. However, adopting Cortex-X1 and Cortex-A78 CPU cores in Snapdragon 875 will surely give better performance than Snapdragon 865.

As per the Geekbench listing, the Snapdragon 875-powered alleged Xiaomi Mi 11 has scored 1105 points in the single-core test, while in the multi-core test, it has scored 3512 points. Furthermore, we can see mentions of the Android 11 Operating System and 6GB of RAM.

875 scores

On the other hand, the Snapdragon 865-powered OnePlus 8 Pro has achieved 895 points in the single-core test and 3295 points in the multi-core test. So we can see that the Snapdragon 875 has achieved 23% higher points in single-core and 6.5% higher points in multi-core than the Snapdragon 865’s scores.
