Snapdragon 7 Gen 1

Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Phones & Features: Early Details Based on Leaks

Qualcomm released Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 this year instead of Snapdragon 898. The exact naming change is going to happen with the 700 series processors. The successor of the Snapdragon 778G could be called the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. Leaks have already revealed most of the specs of the processor. This article will talk about the features of Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and some of the first devices to be powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.

The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 could be the answer to MediaTek’s Dimensity 8100, which is a really powerful and efficient processor. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 will be the successor to the Snapdragon 778G. It will come with an incremental improvement in performance and power efficiency.

Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Features

The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is said to come with four Arm Cortex-A710 and four Arm Cortex-A510 cores and an Adreno 662 GPU. Compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which has four ARM Cortex A710 performance cores, four ARM Cortex A510 efficiency cores, and one Cortex X2 high-performance core, it does not even come close.

As per the leaks, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 will be slower than the Snapdragon 870. This means that it will not be able to compete with the Dimensity 8100, which lies somewhere between Snapdragon 870 and Snapdragon 888. This means that devices like the POCO F3 GT or the Realme GT Neo 2 will easily beat devices with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 will be more of a mid-range processor, just like its predecessors, and will not compete with the powerful Dimensity 8000/8100. It will be a very popular processor like the Snapdragon 778G and other 7 series processors.
