Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Full Specs and US Pricing Leaked

Samsung introduced its foldable lineup in 2019. They were one of the first mainstream brands to do so, making a name in that regard. Although an innovation, the Galaxy Z Fold 1 was riddled with many issues. The phone had issues with durability, longevity, etc.

Taking feedback, Samsung improved the Z Fold lineup every year and crossed 5 generations of Z Fold. The Z Fold 5 was launched in July last year and will be a full 1-year-old in a month’s time. This means the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is right around the corner.

Z Fold 6 Specs Sheet Leaked

The people at Smartprix have leaked the entire Galaxy Z Fold 6 Spec Sheet. According to the spec sheet, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 internal display will be a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 2160 x 1856 pixels resolution.

The external display is 6.3 inches in size with 2376 x 968 pixels. The aspect ratio is 10.5:9, slightly more square than 10.8:9 in last year’s Z Fold 5.

In terms of the processor, Samsung hasn’t explicitly mentioned the name. However, the core count of 8 cores suggests it is Snapdragon instead of Exynos, which has 10 cores. In short, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is going to be equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The listed RAM and storage are 12 GB and 512 GB, respectively, which is the same as last year.

The battery, again, is very similar to the Z Fold 5 at 4400 mAh. The charging speeds aren’t mentioned, but they are likely going to be the same as last year at 25W. The Type-C port is USB 3.2 Gen 1, and the phone has other flagship connectivity features like WiFi 6, NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, etc.

In terms of cameras, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is going to feature a 50MP main lens (f/1.8, OIS, 8K @ 30fps video), a 10MP 3x telephoto (with OIS), and a 12MP ultra-wide. The selfie camera on the outer screen is a 10mp sensor inside a punch-hole cutout.

On the inner screen, there is a 4mp under-display sensor. These specs, once again, are very similar to what we had on the Galaxy Z Fold 5.

Z Fold 6 Price Leaked

Till now, all the leaks of Galaxy Z Fold 6 were quite underwhelming, with only 1 month left for the Galaxy Unpacked launch event. The biggest leak we had before this was the increased pricing of the phone, but without the specs, we wouldn’t know if it was justified. However, with this spec sheet leak, we got an idea of how the phone will be. Unfortunately, it’s not looking good.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 has specs that are very similar to those of its predecessor. There are slight changes in the displays and a generational processor upgrade, but that’s all. The cameras, battery, and charging remain the same. This is disappointing as the specs of Z Fold 5 itself weren’t too different from Z Fold 4.

To add insult to injury, another recent leak by Smartprix reveals a $100 price hike across all storage variants.

Z Fold 6 Storage Variant Price
12 GB RAM / 256 GB Storage $1,900
12 GB RAM / 512 GB Storage $2,020
12 GB RAM / 1 TB Storage $2,260

All this is likely because Samsung doesn’t have any proper competition globally. The Z Fold 5 competed with the OnePlus Open/Oppo Find N3, but their successors seem to be scrapped for 2024, thus leaving Samsung with no incentive to improve. We hope the Z Fold 7 next year comes with fewer incremental upgrades and more major upgrades.
