Two years ago, Samsung started the trend of launching a lite version of their flagship smartphones, specifically one from the S lineup. We had the S10 Lite first, and last year the name changed from lite to “FE” with the release of Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. FE stands for Fan Edition and it promises to provide a good value for your money while compromising on little. It is much like the SE series from iPhone.
Now we have rumours via Sammobile that Samsung has already started work on their Samsung Galaxy S21 FE. Leaks suggest that a Samsung phone with serial number SM-G990B is in works and this could very well be the next FE smartphone. Samsung’s S20 FE smartphone was carried serial number SM-G780F/SM-G781B. So, it is expected that SM-G990B will be the 4G variant of S21 FE.
As for the specs, we only have a few leaks hinting towards the colour and storage options. We will have four colour options: Gray or Silver, Pink, Violet, and White. Two storage options are leaked for this smartphone: 128GB and 256GB. As for the software, we will have the device running on Android 11 with OneUI 3.5 skin on top. This will definitely be a 5G smartphone.
Recently, Samsung has launched Galaxy S20 FE 4G in India. Now it seems the company will also bring the 5G variant of S20 FE in India as its support page goes live. And for its successor Galaxy S21 FE 4G/5G we will have wait for a few months.
