These smartphones brought a flagship-like experience similar to the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 at an affordable price. At the time of launch, these phones shipped with Android 10. So, many users might be wondering if these smartphones will get the Android 13 (One UI 5) update or not. Read more to find out.

Will Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite get Android 13 (One UI 5)?

  • Yes, the Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite will receive the Android 13 (One UI 5) update. You can join the beta program via the Samsung Members app. Samsung has also opened the One UI 5 beta official forum, suggesting the public beta will roll out soon.

The Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite were launched back in 2020 with Android 10 out of the box. Since then, they have received two major Android updates— Android 11 and Android 12. Samsung recently rolled out One UI 4.1 based on Android 12 on many Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite. They are running on the latest One UI 4.1 based on Android 12. This marks the second major update for these smartphones.

Android-13

Samsung will provide these smartphones with another major Android update— Android 13 (One UI 5). This will be the last major Android update to be received by these smartphones. And no, this is not any speculation or expectation. Samsung has officially confirmed it will provide three years of major Android updates to the Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite. Samsung announced its new update policy in 2020, wherein all its flagship devices launched in or after 2019 would receive three years of major Android updates and four years of security updates.

On the contrary, the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10 5G, Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy Note 10+, and Galaxy Note 10+ 5G launched in 2019 will not get the Android 13 update. This is because the phones shipped with Android 9 (Pie) out of the box and have already received three major Android updates, with Android 12 being the last major Android update.

Rumors and leaks about the Android 13-based One UI 5 update have already started. Samsung will most likely release the Android 13-based One UI 5 update in November 2022 for all eligible Galaxy devices, which include the Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite.
