Samsung is rolling out the Android 12-based One UI 4.1 update for several eligible Galaxy devices. The update brought several new Android 12 features for Samsung Galaxy devices. Although many users still await Android 12, rumors about the Android 13-based One UI 5 update have already begun. Google has also released the Android 13 beta for some devices. The Android 13 beta gave us a preview of what new features we will get in Android 13. The Android beta is still not available for Galaxy devices.
Samsung Galaxy A90 5G Android 13 (One UI 5) Update Status
Many people don’t know about the Galaxy A90 series. Samsung released a Galaxy A90 5G as a cheap, affordable flagship device. The Galaxy A90 offered specs like the Galaxy FE series of the present time. Samsung didn’t like the idea of a flagship-like device in the A-series and didn’t release an A91 or A92.
The Galaxy A90 5G featured a Snapdragon 855 with Adreno 640 GPU, 6GB or 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. We did not and will not see a successor to this device. This device was launched with Android 9.0 Pie and runs on the latest Android 12 (One UI 4.1).
Samsung had promised three years of major Android updates for the Galaxy A90 5G, which they delivered. The Galaxy A90 5G received three significant updates- Android 10, Android 11, and Android 12. The Galaxy A90 5G runs on the latest Android 12 update. This could be the third and last major Android update for this device. This device might have to spend the rest of its life on Android 12. Android 13 is very likely to come to Galaxy A90 5G.
The above information is not official as Samsung has not announced the Android 13-based One UI 5 yet. It’s just a prediction based on Samsung’s update policy. The Galaxy A90 5G may get the Android 13 update only if Samsung thinks of being too generous.
Even if Samsung does not provide the Android 13 update, users can enjoy Android 13 with the help of custom ROMs (if available). It may also be noted that Galaxy A90 5G users may still get one year of security updates from Samsung.
