Samsung Galaxy A8+(2018) First Live Images Leaked

Samsung is set to launch its A series of smartphones consisting of the Galaxy A3 (2018), Galaxy A5 (2018) and the Galaxy A8 (2018). The previously leaked render suggests these smartphones will feature Samsung’s signature Infinity display, which is only featured in the S8 series until now. A couple of real-life Galaxy A7 (2018) images, launched as A8+ 2018 and will carry model no SM-A730F, were spotted on Weibo. As per the source, Samsung will adopt an A8 and A8+ naming scheme instead of sticking with A3, A5, or A7 (2018) model titles.

The leaked images reveal the smartphone will have an infinity display but a flatter surface. Previous reports suggest the display has a 6-inch to 18:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of FHD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels). The bezels, though minuscule, are still broader than the Galaxy S8. The device also doesn’t sport a complete edge-to-edge screen. There is no fingerprint sensor on the front, which will likely be placed on the rear. The image also reveals a dual-camera setup on the front.

The A8+ 2018 will be a higher variant of the Galaxy A3 (2018) and Galaxy A5 (2018). The Galaxy A8+ 2018 has also passed the FCC certification along with the Galaxy A5 (2018). The FCC certification revealed the A8+ would be powered by an Exynos 7885 chipset, which is manufactured on the 10 nm FinFET process and contains 6 ARM Cortex-A53 cores coupled with a dual-core Cortex-A73 unit and a Mali-G71 GPU. It will offer 6 GB RAM and likely have two main variants with either a single SIM (SM-A730F) or dual SIM (SM-A730F/DS) configuration. DS stands for the Dual SIM variant.

The Samsung Galaxy A8+ 2018 model no SM-A730F has also been spotted on GeekBench and GFXBench. It reveals the device will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and feature 16 MP cameras on both the front and rear sides. Additionally, it will have a water and dust-resistant body with IP68 ratings.
