Samsung Galaxy A50, A50s and A51 Android 11 Update Status

Samsung introduced its first Galaxy series in 2009, and till then, the company launched a lot of Galaxy smartphones. The Galaxy A50 series was also one of them. The series has two smartphones in its franchise, viz. Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A50s and were launched in March and September of 2019, respectively. In December 2019, the company also announced its successor, Galaxy A51. Samsung has both budget and premium smartphones in its Galaxy series. Also, Samsung has a software policy that no matter what, if a phone is a premium or budget, it will receive two major OS upgrades.

Samsung launched its new customized UI known as One UI, and they first implemented their first version with Android 9 Pie. After that, two more Android 10-based versions were labeled as One UI 2.0 and One UI 2.1. Now, Samsung is reportedly preparing Android 11-based One UI 3.0. The beta testing of Android 11 has started, and people are in distress whether their A50, A50s, and A51 are eligible for the new Android 11 or not. Let’s check out if your device is lucky or not.

Will Samsung Galaxy A50 receive Android 11?

The Galaxy A50 is the first device in the A50 series and was launched with Android 9 Pie and One UI on top. Later, it was updated to Android 10 with One UI 2.0. Since the device had one major OS upgrade from Android 9 to Android 10 it still has one major OS upgrade left. So, as per software policy, the Galaxy A50 may get updated to Android 11 with the latest One UI 3.0.

The second device in the franchise is the Galaxy A50s. It was launched with Android 9 Pie along with the initial version of One UI. The Galaxy A50s was updated to Android 10 before the A50. For a premium experience, it has the latest One UI 2.0 based on Android 10. Like A50, this device has also exhausted only one quota of major OS upgrades and still has one quota left. According to the policy, A50s may also get Android 11 with One UI 3.0 over it.

Talking about the A50s, it has an amazing Super AMOLED screen of 6.4 inches with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The device is powered by an Exynos 9611 Octa-core processor with Mali-G72 MP3 GPU for smooth gaming. It has a triple camera style with a primary camera of 48MP and a front camera of 32MP. The Galaxy A51 was launched with Android 10 with One UI 2.1 out of the box. The device will surely get Android 11 with One UI 3.0 as the device hasn’t got a major OS upgrade once and still has two slots left. The Galaxy A51 is probably eligible for Android 12, too, when it is launched. So, keep your hopes high for this one. The A51 has a 5G variant, which is called Galaxy A51 5G. There is no doubt that the device will receive the next-generation Android 11 update.

As per the previous software update track record and policy of Samsung, the above statements are made; until now, no official list has been out, and few changes may or may not be made to the list.
