Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi was a big success, especially in India. The Redmi Note series franchise has created a great hype and users have liked it a lot. Its biggest screen and battery have been a major attraction along with the other specs. Xiaomi launched the new Redmi Note 9 family consisting of three devices viz. Redmi Note 9, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. All three devices are being sold via Amazon and Mi.com on a first come first serve basis.
Will Redmi Note 9, Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max get Android 11?
All the three devices were launched with Android 10 with MIUI 11 skin on top of it. Xiaomi has the rule of delivering two major OS upgrades per device. So as per this software policy, Redmi Note 9 lineup is eligible for the Android 11 upgrade and probably for Android 12 too when it will launch. At the moment, the Android 10 based MIUI 12 is rolling out via OTA for all the three Redmi Note 9 devices.
Release Date
Google announced the final build of Android 11 on September 8, 2020. Now, eligible Pixel devices from Google and flagship devices from other OEMs are getting the update. Redmi Note 9 lineup comes under mid-range segment. So, the Redmi Note 9 series will probably get the Android 11 stable update in Q1 2021 which is from January 2021 to March 2021. About Redmi Note 9 Series
Coming to the specifications of the three devices, Redmi Note 9, Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max have the display size of 6.53-inch, 6.67-inch, and 6.67-inch respectively. The Redmi Note 9 is powered by MediaTek Helio G85 and the Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G. All three devices have the same battery amount and internal storage which is 5020 mAh and 64GB. The Note 9 and Note 9 Pro has RAM of 4GB and Note 9 Pro Max has a RAM of 6GB. The camera setup on all the devices is the same which is a quad camera setup. The Note 9, Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max come with the camera combination of 48MP+8MP+2MP+2MP, 48MP+8MP+5MP+2MP, and 64MP+8MP+5MP+2MP respectively. The price for Redmi Note 9, Note 9 Pro, and Note 9 Pro Max are Rs.11,999, Rs.13,999 and Rs.16,999 respectively.
