There is good news for Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 8, Redmi 8, and 8A users. Xiaomi will soon roll out Android 10 for these devices. At the moment, Xiaomi rolled out the beta version of Android 10 for selected users. Many companies execute this style where they launch the beta update first to check if there are any improvements to make in the ROM. Users will send feedback about the beta to Xiaomi to bring some improvements to the OS.
In a recent tweet from Xiaomi Firmware Updater, the Redmi Note 8, Redmi 8, and 8A are undergoing beta testing of Android 10 and will officially roll out when there are no bugs. Xiaomi Firmware Updater is nothing but an open-source community that allows downloadable firmware package files for all Xiaomi phones.
Now that it’s official, Xiaomi users will surely get the update, and they can take a nice breath and wait for the global update.
Moreover, the crucial updates are first rolled out to the Chinese variants of Xiaomi phones. After that, it is pushed globally among users. Even though Android 10 has gone under testing for Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 8, Redmi 8, and 8A, it will surely take some time to get their hands on the update.

Talking about the phones now, both Redmi 8 and 8A come with a 6.22-inch display and are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 439. Under the hood, both devices have up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage. Redmi 8 has a dual rear camera (12MP + 2MP) and 8MP for selfies, whereas Redmi 8A has a single rear camera of 12MP and there is an 8MP sensor for selfies. The two phones are backed by a 5000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
Redmi Note 8 has a 6.39-inch display and runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC. The chipset has been paired with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. It packs a quad rear camera setup (48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP ) and a 13MP sensor for selfies, along with 4000 mAh of juice.
