Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition (aka Poco F2?) with Dimensity 1200 Coming Soon

Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi K40 series of smartphones back in February. They launched the devices the Redmi K40, the Redmi K40 Pro and the Redmi K40 Pro+. But that is not all for the Redmi K40 series. Recently, Xiaomi released a gif image of an upcoming Redmi K40 series smartphone, the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition.

The teaser reveals a few design details of these smartphones. In the gif image, we can see mechanical shoulder buttons, a key feature for gaming smartphones. Gamers can assign different functions of the games to these extra buttons. We also see a vertical triple camera setup at the top right corner of the device. Right next to the shoulder button near the camera setup, we see a slider button. Turning this button on/off adds a lighting effect around the rear camera setup. This slider button might serve as a control button to turn on/off gaming mode in the smartphone.

As per the teaser, the launch date of this smartphone is the 27th of April for the Chinese market. We have no information about the launch date for the international variant of this smartphone.

Even the 3C authority of China recorded two new device model numbers, namely M2102K10C and M2104K10C. These are the speculated versions of the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition. Both of these model numbers represent two storage variants of this upcoming smartphone. This listing further reveals that the smartphone will have 5G connectivity, and it will also have 67W fast charging.

As for the rest of the smartphone specifications, we only have rumors and reports. This upcoming Redmi device is expected to feature a 5,000 mAh battery. We will also get the same display technology as the rest of the Redmi K40 lineup, which features a 6.67-inch S-AMOLED E4 screen. But this time, instead of a 120Hz refresh rate, we will get a 144Hz refresh rate in the display panel. As for power, we will get the flagship Dimensity 1200 processor, which is the best that MediaTek has on offer for us.

Nothing else about the smartphone had surfaced online besides that it will cost customers 2,000 Yuan, which roughly translates to a little over the 300$ mark. Redmi never misses out on launching a smartphone for the Indian masses, and we can expect this smartphone to launch in India, too. It will probably be launched under the F series lineup of Poco smartphones (Poco F2?) in India.

Under the Poco brand name, we can expect this device to launch for global markets as well. Xiaomi never misses the trick of offering a high-powered device at a cheap price, and the same is the case with the upcoming Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition.
