Xiaomi has launched an entry-level smartphone, Redmi 8A Dual, in India, which is the updated version of last year’s Redmi 8A. To compete with Xiaomi’s 8A Dual, Realme has also launched its entry-level smartphone dubbed Realme C3 in India. Both the company provide great value for money smartphones as both phones come with a similar price tag, so people might be confused about which one to buy. So, let’s compare their specifications and features to find out which one is the best entry-level smartphone for 2020.
Redmi 8A Dual vs Realme C3 Comparison
Design
As both Redmi 8A Dual and Realme C3 are entry-level devices, you need to compromise in terms of design, and we can’t expect premium materials like flagship devices. Both phones come with a plastic design, but they are still elegant and well-built. Both are splash-resistant, which means they are resistant to splashes and do not sink in water. As both phones have a water-drop notch on top, we get narrow bezels around the display. However, the Redmi 8A Dual is more compact in size, and it features the new Aura XGrip design, which offers a better grip than the Realme C3.
Display
We can’t expect high brightness, high resolution, high level of detail, and accurate colors on below Rs 7000 phones. We see a 6.22-inch IPS LCD display with 720 x 1520 pixels resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and 270 PPI on Redmi 8A Dual. On the other hand, for Realme C3, we see the same aspect ratio and PPI, but it comes with a much wider panel (6.5 inches) than Redmi 8A Dual. So, Realme C3 is a better device for multimedia lovers.
Processor
In terms of performance, Realme C3 is the clear winner. Redmi 8A Dual has a Snapdragon 439 chipset coupled with up to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of Internal Storage. At the same time, Realme C3 is powered by MediaTek’s latest Helio G70 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of Internal Storage. If we compare Snapdragon 439 with Helio G70, we found MediaTek’s G70 delivers better CPU and GPU performance.
Camera
Both phones come with a dual rear camera setup on its back. Redmi 8A Dual packs a 13MP primary lens with f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP depth-sensing lens with f/2.2 aperture. Other camera features include AI scene detection, AI portrait mode, and Google Lens. For selfies, we see an 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, which also supports AI portrait mode.
On the other hand, for photography, Realme C3 sports a 12MP AI primary lens with f/1.8 aperture with a portrait lens that offers beautiful bokeh portraits and a secondary 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. At the front, we see a single 5MP AI camera with f/2.4 aperture.
Battery
Both phones are backed by a massive 5000 mAh capacity that delivers upto 3 days of battery life with moderate usage. To charge the device battery faster, Redmi 8A Dual comes with support for 18W fast charging technology while Realme C3 supports 10W charging. However, Realme C3 also supports reverse charging via a MicroUSB cable which helps you to use it as a power bank to charge other devices.

Which One is Better Phone Under 7000?
We get Mali-G52 2EEMC2 (820MHz) GPU on Realme C3, which is more powerful than Realme 8A Dual’s GPU Adreno 505, so Realme C3 is a great phone for gamers if their budget is below Rs 7000. Also, on Realme C3, we get a dedicated mode for gaming that delivers better performance while managing the phone’s resources optimally. We get an HD+ large display on Realme C3 compared to Redmi 8A Dual that measures 6.52-inch in size with a feature called ‘latency optimization,’ which offers better refresh rates. So, if you are looking at an entry-level phone under Rs 7000 with a great processor, then you can buy a Realme C3.
