Realme GT: Realme’s New Flagship Lineup Coming to India?

Back in February 2020, Realme launched their take on a flagship phone in India, and they called it the Realme X50 Pro. We have had other high-spec smartphones from Realme in India, but none like a true flagship. However, it seems that things are going to change soon. Last year, Realme announced that they would be launching a Realme Race smartphone with the Snapdragon 888 under the hood. They announced that Race is just a codename and the original device will have a different name.

The Realme Race smartphone with model number RMX2202 appeared (via GSMArena) in the database of China’s TENAA authority. Now, there is information that this smartphone may come with the name Realme GT, and it will start a new line for Realme.

We have spotted that a trademark has been granted to Realme for a Realme GT device. Even the picture of the smartphone on TENAA (a Chinese regulatory body) has a GT logo on the back of the smartphone. So, as far as the name of the series is concerned, it will likely be called the GT lineup, at least here in India, as the device has already been certified by India’s BIS certification. Realme might launch the same smartphone in different countries with a different name.

GT trademark

GT does fall in line perfectly with the codename Race, which was officially announced last year, and there were some images teased of the smartphone. All of that points towards this upcoming GT smartphone.

Regarding the specifications of the phone, we do have a couple of leaks. The leaks suggest that the GT smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone will come with Android 11 out of the box with Realme UI 2.0 skinned on top of it.

Another rumor is that its Pro version (Realme GT Pro?) will come with a 6.81-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 160Hz. According to this rumor, we will get a 5,000 mAh battery that can be charged up quickly in around 15 minutes using a 125W charging adapter. If that is the case, then Realme will definitely include that charging adapter in the box.
