Realme Android 12 (Realme UI 3.0): Everything We Know So Far

The third iteration of Realme UI could be termed Realme UI 3.0

As Realme is slowly rolling out the Android 11 update for its eligible smartphones, it is already time for the next Android 12 (Realme UI 3.0) update. Google has released the developer preview of the upcoming Android 12 for its pixel devices. The developer preview build already has a bunch of new Android 12 features that Google will officially announce only when they officially launch the stable build of it. The developer preview is specifically designed for app developers so that they can have enough to update their apps as per the new OS version.

We have Realme’s X50 Pro and X50 Pro Player edition running Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11. Other Realme devices are yet to receive the stable version of Android 11. Besides these two flagship devices, only Realme X2 Pro and the Realme 7 Pro are expected to soon receive the Realme UI 2.0 update. The rest of the devices are either on Realme UI 1.0(Android 10) or Beta Realme UI 2.0(Android 11).

What is Realme UI 3.0?

Realme UI 3.0 is the upcoming Android custom skin from Realme. It will be based on the Android 12 operating system. The third iteration of the company’s Android skin will bring Seamless Fun experience to its users, new features, enhanced performance, improved security and more.

Realme UI 3.0 Release Date

  • The Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 will likely release in September 2021. However, Realme UI 3.0 early access programme for trail purpose may start from July 2021. The programme will not open to all and will be limited to select devices.

Following the developer preview build of Android 12, we will get the Beta build in the later phase of the month of April. Last year in July Realme started an Early Access Program where they released the beta build of Realme UI 2.0 for some of their flagship devices. This year too we might see Realme launching a beta build of Realme UI 3.0 based on a Beta build of Android 12 and launch it under the Early Access Program. Following that, when the stable build of Android 12 launches in the later phase of August, we will see Realme working on the stable build of Realme UI 3.0 and launching it with a couple of months for their flagship devices. After that, the rest of the eligible Realme devices will get the Android 12 update in the next few months.

List of Realme phones eligible for the Android 12 (Realme UI 3.0) update

Realme usually comes with a two-year update program with almost every device getting a minimum of 2 major Android updates. But, that is not the case for some of the budget devices. Budget Realme devices below the 100-150 USD mark usually get only a single major Android update. So it is quite difficult to specifically point out which Realme devices will get the Android 12 update. However, based on Realme’s history with Realme UI 1.0, we have compiled a list of Realme smartphone which should be getting the Android 12 based Realme UI 3.0 update when it officially launches.
