Poco X5 5G May Launch Soon with MIUI 14 and a 5000mAh Battery

The Poco M5 series that launched this year was an excellent buy for around 10000. It has the MediaTek Helio G99 SOC with an FHD+ screen and a 5000mAh battery. Poco is gearing up to launch the Poco X5 5G in India, mostly later this year.

The Poco X3 was a stellar product at the time for its price. It was a balanced option with a 120Hz screen, a good set of cameras, and a 732G chip. It had a good and big battery with fast charging and excellent value for money all around. While the Poco X4 Pro launched in the subsequent year failed to be a market-disrupting smartphone, the X5 looks like another semi-decent option for a performance-centric crowd.

The Poco X5 5G launch seems imminent since the phone has been spotted on certification sites. Himanshu Tandon on Twitter recently said that they’re working on a new launch, so this phone could be what he was talking about.

The Model was spotted on the IMEI database before. It has also acquired BIS and FCC certifications, with model numbers 22101320I (Indian Model) and 22101320G. According to the FCC listing, the device will contain a rectangular camera array. The second model number is probably for China.

The Poco X5 is rumored to ship with a 120Hz IPS LCD 1080p Panel, with the Snapdragon 778G+ SOC, also found on the Nothing Phone (1). It is expected to come with a 4900mAh rated/ 5000mAh typical battery. Camera specifications and charging speed currently remain unknown. Six bands of 5G: n5, n7, n38, n41, n77, and n78 are expected on this device, according to FCC. It is expected to launch with MIUI 14 (probably based on Android 13) out of the box.

While no launch event has occurred for this device, and no official confirmation of a launch has happened yet, we can assume the phone might be announced in November or December at the latest and a launch soon after. We expect the Xiaomi 13 series and the global Note 12 series launch along with MIUI 14 will happen in December 2022, so it seems likely that the X5 might launch before this, though it is pure speculation. We will keep you updated on further news of the launch of the Poxo X5.

Assuming the leaked specifications are accurate, we can expect the Poco X5 5G phone to be priced below 18,000 INR (Not confirmed) because it has an LCD. This phone appears to be geared toward a performance-centric audience shopping for a gaming phone under 18,000. Anything over that, and this phone could be overpriced. This will probably not be a great all-around choice, but if priced well, it seems to be a decent buy for gamers. There are no leaks from credible sources about Global or Indian pricing.
