After the success of Poco X3 in India, Poco is planning to launch the Poco X3 Pro in India soon. Recently the device received a certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards(BIS) which is a necessary requirement for a smartphone in India. Any new smartphone that launches in India needs this certification. This certification does not reveal anything regarding the specifications of this upcoming Poco X3 Pro device, but it does confirm that the launch is happening soon.
The Pro will definitely be an upgrade over the Vanilla Poco X3 which features a 6.67-inch IPS panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, the Snapdragon 732G, a 64MP primary camera, and a 6,000 mAh battery. The Pro will definitely feature improved camera and processor upgrades. Some leaks suggest that we will get the Snapdragon 855 or Snapdragon 855+, but that seems highly unlikely. There are more leaks that suggest that we will get a quad-camera setup with the Poco X3 Pro. It is said to feature a 48MP sensor this time around. As for the rest, the certification and leaks only suggest that this device will run on MIUI 12.
This will be a 4G only smartphone though. So if you were wondering about getting a new Poco 5G phone, then this is not the option for you. Apart from BIS, the Poco X3 Pro has also received certification from Thailand’s NBTC, Singapore’s IMDA, Malaysia’s SIRIM, and TUV Rheinland. We only have the global model number of this upcoming Poco X3 Pro which is M2012J20SG. As for the launch date, a tipster who was accurate with his prediction on the launch of Poco X3 has said that the Poco X3 Pro will be announced in India in the first or second week of March. So we will soon see what this Pro device from Poco has in store for us.
