The Search Engine Tech Company is quite serious about their upcoming Pixel 9 series. The predecessor models were not as fascinating as they were intended to be. However, we may see quite a big upgrade, especially in terms of cameras. The leaks flowing throughout the web hint that the next-gen Pixel smartphones are going to be “camera-focused.”
When we compare the leaked details via Android Authority with those of the previous generation Pixel smartphones, we can see a massive camera hardware upgrade. The company has stepped up the camera game this time.
They are about to use 50MP sensors throughout the series. There will be some differences, such as the normal variant being inferior to the Pro. But the cameras are going to be superior this time.
Before diving into the camera specifications, let’s know about the Pixel 9 series. There will be three models: Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL. The camera hardware of the Pixel Fold 2 or maybe Pixel 9 Pro Fold (the moniker is not confirmed as of now) is also available. Nonetheless, the foldable will be different from the regular series.
There are also rumors about the upcoming Pixel Camera application. It will allow you to record videos in 8K resolution. The existing Pixel 8 series users will also get it via the update. We will discuss each Pixel 9 series device and compare it with the previous generation.
Pixel 9
The Pixel 9 will boast two rear cameras: 50MP primary and 50MP Ultrawide. The main camera will likely use a Samsung GNK sensor with OIS integration, while the secondary camera will likely use a Sony IMX858 sensor. The previous generation has 50MP and 12MP cameras. This time, it will feature a 10.5MP Samsung 3J1 front sensor with Autofocus support.
Pixel 9 Pro/ 9 Pro XL
The Pixel 9 Pro and XL share similar camera hardware. They will likely include three sensors: a 50MP main Samsung GNK sensor (OIS), a 50MP Ultrawide Sony IMX858 sensor, and a 50MP Telephoto Sony IMX858 sensor (OIS).
Previously, the Pixel 8 Pro had 50MP primary, 48MP Ultrawide and 48MP Telephoto. The selfie will have a 50MP Sony IMX858 sensor with Autofocus.
Pixel 9 Pro Fold/ Pixel Fold 2
The second generation Pixel Fold will likely have three rear cameras: A 64MP primary Sony IMX787 sensor (OIS), a 12MP Ultrawide Samsung 3LU sensor, and a 10.5MP Telephoto Samsung 3J1 sensor. The outer and inner display’s front camera will likely have 10MP Samsung 3K1 sensors.
