The Search Engine Tech Giant should allegedly be planning for the upcoming Pixel 10 series. However, the rumors emphasize the development of Pixel 11, specifically the Pixel 11a.
Normally, the Pixel 10 series will likely launch in 2025 and the Pixel 11 series in 2026. If we follow the company’s past launches, the A-series will arrive approximately six months later than the main release.
The floating rumor talks about the 2027 Pixel 11a. As per the leak, it is expected to come with the Tensor G6 chipset. The processor will launch alongside the Pixel 11 series in 2026, and the Pixel 11a will carry the same in 2027. The next generation Pixel Tablet (Pixel Tab 3) is also expected to come with Tensor G6.
However, the performance of the regular Pixel 11 series and Pixel 11a or Pixel Tab 3 cannot be calibrated. A report suggests that the Pixel 11a and the next-gen tablet are going to provide “reduced performance” through the Tensor G6 chipset. This has been done to maintain the expenses since the A-series targets the midrange segment.
From the upcoming Pixel 11 series, Android Authority claims that the company intends to launch four devices in the series. Google segregates the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold as “Base ’26”, “Premium’ 26”, and “Fold ’26” respectively. This confirms that they are launching in 2026, following Google’s usual schedule. Similarly, they write “Entry Phone ’27,” possibly for the Pixel 11a, aiming to launch in 2027.
The above analogy differentiates the regular Pixel 11 series and A-series. This further develops confidence that processor selection for the above two parties can be different. The Tensor G6 will likely power the Pixel 11 series, and the Tensor G6 (less powerful edition) will power the Pixel 11a.
If TSMC starts producing Tensor chips next year, the Pixel A-series devices cannot come in different packaging. The company did this to adjust the costs; however, it may not be done further. The chips were mounted in IPoP packages instead of FOPLP, resulting in hotter performance in response to the economy approach.
After moving to TSMC, the processors will use InFO packaging technology. With this, the company is aiming to fuse off the defective parts of the TPU, which will protect chipsets that would otherwise have to be thrown away.
Nonetheless, this approach will weaken the performance, and hence, the AI cannot work effectively. Therefore, the company will consider using it in their Pixel 11a and Pixel Tab 3.
Further, the report talks about the Pixel Tablet 3 being equipped with an additional USB Type-C port controller. Google cites the Pixel Tab 3 as a “Tablet Pixel ‘27”. The second generation is expected to arrive in 2025, indicating the company’s bi-yearly launch approach since the first generation was launched in 2023. And hence, we can expect the Pixel Tab 3 in 2027 along with an upgraded USB 3.2 port.
