The Pixel 10 series is all set to launch on the 20th of August. In traditional Pixel style, most of the information about the upcoming devices, including design and specifications, has already leaked.
As per a post on X (via GSMArena) from Evan Blass, who is a very credible leaker, some promotional material of the upcoming Google products has leaked in the moonstone colorway. The leak includes the Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, the Pixel Watch 4, and the Pixel Buds 2a. Google usually advertises its products with one specific color as the main color theme of that year.
For the Pixel 8 series, it was Bay Blue. The Pixel 9 series had a lot of colorful choices, like the Obsidian color, Peony color, and Rose Quartz. For the upcoming Pixel 10 series, the new advertised color option is probably this ‘Moonstone’ color. It’s not a very exciting or punchy color, but it’s a bit understated. It’s closer to a muted gray hue, with a hint of blue.
Strangely, the base Pixel 10 does not seem to offer this new Moonstone color. As per a leak from Android Headlines, the colors of the Pixel 10 are Obsidian, Indigo, Frost, and Limoncello. The colors are indeed very bold for the base models. Unfortunately, Porcelain and Pink are absent from this list. What’s worth noting is that the new Moonstone color does not appear anywhere in the leaked renders.
The Pixel 10 also has several changes this year. Instead of the usual dual-camera setup where both cameras use flagship-level hardware, Google has apparently decided to downgrade both the main and ultrawide cameras in favor of a new telephoto camera. As a result, the camera bar design is now different. It features a third camera, which is a telephoto. The main sensor is down from a very large 1/1.3″ sensor to a 1/1.95″ main sensor. It’s the same hardware as the budget Pixel 9a. This decision was probably taken to add a telephoto to the Pixel 10, and it also adds further differentiation between the base and Pro models.
While the base Pixel 10 doesn’t seem to have the Moonstone color option, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold does have it, and we can see it in the leaked renders. As for the rest of the lineup, the Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL have identical camera hardware to their predecessors. The major change is in the chipset department. The Tensor G5 SOC is expected to bring a massive performance overhaul, as Google has switched to using a TSMC-fabricated chipset.
