Will Vivo Z1 Pro and Vivo Z1x Get Android 11 (Funtouch OS 11) Update?

Chinese manufacturer Vivo was able to get recognized in the Indian market. People were able to embrace it as the company launched some pretty great smartphones with great specs at an affordable price. Vivo always likes to experiment with new futuristic tech. Vivo was the first company to introduce the trendy in-display fingerprint on their smartphone. However, the effort for software updates from Vivo seems very low. Moreover, like the different Android companies, the Vivo software policy strategy is not known either. It has been almost a month since the launch of Android 11 beta testing, and the Vivo Z1 Pro and Vivo Z1x are in a dilemma about whether they will be able to experience the new Android 11 or not.

The first major OS update of Vivo Z1 Pro and Z1x is released

Vivo Z1 Pro and Vivo Z1x were launched in July and September of 2019, respectively. Both the devices came with pre-installed Android 9 Pie. The company confirms on Twitter that the first major OS update i.e., Android 10 (Funtouch OS 10), has been released for both Z1 Pro and Z1x. Moreover, the company further states that it is still in testing mode, and once there are no critical bugs, it will launch the update widely. Since it is in the beta testing phase, many people were able to grab the update. People will get a notification, or they can check for the update manually.

As for the update, the Z1 Pro comes with the baseband version PD1911F_EX_A_1.7.8 and PD1921F_EX_A_1.11.4 for the Z1x. The update sizes for the Z1 Pro and Z1x are 3.1GB and 3.32GB, respectively. The Funtouch OS 10 has a very simple design, performance enhancements, live wallpapers, newly redesigned apps, and the improved Join virtual assistant. Once you get the notification for the update, be sure to update it with a battery charge of above 70% and a decent internet connection.

Vivo Z1 Pro and Vivo Z1x Android 11 Update Status

Since the Funtouch OS 10 update for the Vivo Z1 Pro and Vivo Z1x is sorted and made the Android 10 list, people are at ease for now. But they still want to know about the status of Android 11-based Funtouch OS 11 for Z1 Pro and Z1x. As we don’t know about the software policy of Vivo, we will refer to some facts, which are the previous track records of updates.

Vivo X23 and Vivo X21s, these two devices were launched with Android 8.1 and then were updated to Android 9 Pie. Now, both the devices are ready to set sail for their second, probably the last, major OS upgrade, which is Android 10. Most of the old devices from Vivo got only two major OS upgrades. So, as per this policy, the Vivo Z1 Pro and Vivo Z1x may get the new Funtouch OS 11 based on Android 11.

Since both the devices received an Android 10 update recently, it will take pretty much time to get the new update. However, there may be a possibility that you may see Android 10-based Funtouch OS 11 first and then based on Android 11 later.
