Redmi Note 8T may Launch with Snapdragon 730G SoC

Redmi Note 8 Pro is only available in the China market now but will launch in India soon in the next month. The Note 8 Pro in China packs the Helio G90T, which is a gaming processor with much emphasis given to graphic process handling. However, just recently, popular tipster Mukul Sharma sent out the latest leak on Twitter suggesting that there might be a Redmi Note 8T device under development from the company, which will come with a different processor.

The leaks suggest that the Redmi Note 8T will come with the Snapdragon 730G SoC, an upgrade over the Redmi Note 8 launched a while ago. This might also be an upgrade over the Redmi Note 8 Pro, which comes with the Helio G90T processor, since the G90T lags in CPU performance compared to the Snapdragon 730G.

On top of it all, Realme plans to launch the Realme XT 730G in India with the Snapdragon 730G. So, to give Realme a run for their money, Redmi’s approach to a new device is quite understandable. Realme in India has grown quite a big market, especially in the budget segment of devices, previously ruled by Xiaomi devices. So Xiaomi now has to come up with an answer to Realme’s fast-growing market. This competition to be the budget king is good for the end consumers because, in the end, we are the ones getting high-end devices at meager prices.

Now, whether this new T version of the Redmi Note 8 will come with a 64-megapixel camera with a quad-camera setup or the standard 48-megapixel camera with a triple or quad-camera setup is still a mystery. We will get a clearer picture when more leaks about this device flood in.

Now, the Redmi Note 8 in China is priced at CNY 1,399, which translates to roughly Rs 13,999. Considering the Redmi Note 8T is an upgrade over this, we can expect a price of Rs 14,999 for the rumored ‘T’ version of Redmi Note 8.
