Realme Narzo 30 Pro Might be the Cheapest 5G Smartphone in India

Right now, Realme has the cheapest 5G smartphone in the Indian market. It is the Realme X7 5G, priced at 19,999. For the price, there is nothing to dislike about this smartphone. If you want a 5G phone and 20k is your budget, then the Realme X7 is the only option. But recently, Realme’s CEO Madhav Seth tweeted a question where he asked his followers as to whether Realme should make 5G phones even more affordable. This makes the company’s intention clear to launch 5G smartphones at an even lower price point.

A smartphone that has been leaked several times recently is the Realme Narzo 30. The Narzo series started last, with the Narzo 10 series coming out in Q2 of 2020 and the Narzo 20 series in Q3 of 2020. The next smartphone to follow suit would be the Realme Narzo 30 series. The Narzo series comes out with three devices each time. This time around, too, we will see a Narzo 30, a Narzo 30A, and a Narzo 30 Pro. The Narzo 30 Pro is hinted to be a 5G smartphone. So, the smartphone Madhav Seth refers to in the tweet could very well be the Realme Narzo 30 Pro.

Despite all this, recently, a new Realme phone with model number RMX3161 was approved by China’s TENAA telecom authority. This smartphone features a 6.5-inch punch-hole display, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, a triple rear camera setup, Android 11, and a 4,880 mAh battery. Nothing else is known about this mystery RMX3161, but there are speculations that this is one of the phones from the Realme Narzo 30 series. It may launch in China first with a different name and then make its way to India as a rebranded smartphone.

There is no news about a possible launch date either. But Realme will not launch it any time soon. Launching the Narzo 30 series soon will mean that the Realme X7 will no longer be the cheapest 5G smartphone in India. So, people will not go for the X7; rather, they will go for the Narzo 30 Pro. So they will wait until the X7 makes some sales and then launch the Narzo 30 series. If Realme follows the previous year’s trend, we will see the Realme Narzo 30 series in Q2 of 2021.
