Realme GT Neo 5 Might Launch Soon with Realme UI 4

The Realme GT Neo 3 was launched in March 2022. It’s targeted at gamers and people who want fast charging. It excelled in performance with a 120Hz AMOLED display and the Dimensity 8100 SOC. There are two variants; one charges at 80W, which is already plenty fast, and another charges at 150W, which is an insane speed.

It’s worth noting that Realme’s GT Neo series is inconsistent with naming. The GT Neo 2 was the first one that made it to India. For the price, it had excellent performance thanks to the 870 and also a 120Hz AMOLED screen. Two other phones were launched in the Neo series, the Neo 3T and the Neo 3.

A notable rebrand was the OnePlus 10R and the Realme GT Neo 3; they were the same phones, so we can assume that Realme’s GT Neo 5 might arrive as the OnePlus 11R or OnePlus Ace 2.

Recently, Realme launched the Realme 10 and Realme 10 Pro+ running Android 13, which were the first phones launched by Realme this year with Realme UI 4.

Realme UI 4 has a modern aqua-morphic design with a good application of Gaussian Blur and glassy icons. It has carefully curated fonts, and the UI strikes a good balance between being playful and professional.

It also has the Material You design language. There are plenty of features to play around with. It also brings large folders and better customizability for the Always On Display. According to the latest reports, another Realme phone running Realme UI 4 will launch soon in the Chinese market.

Xu Qi is Realme’s Global Marketing President and Vice President. On Weibo, he has asked Realme fans to guess the upcoming Realme phone with Android 13. This might be foreshadowing the launch of the Realme GT Neo 5. Going by predictions, this might be the first Realme GT series phone to launch in 2023.

Renders for the Realme GT Neo 5 have already surfaced online via SmartPrix. The phone has a different dual-tone design. According to the renders, the camera module is black, and the rest of the phone is white. The housing has two cameras, a flash module, and a curved back panel. A text says “Matrix AI,” which is probably another new marketing term.

Like last year, we can assume it’ll ship in two variants, one with a ~4600 mAh battery and 240W charging. The other might have a larger 5000 mAh battery with 150W charging. They have high charging wattages, and it’s unclear whether they will make it out of China.

The display is another area of confusion; some people have reported that it’ll stick to 1080P, while other rumors say it might have a resolution of 2722*1240. The refresh rate might stick to 120 or move up to 144Hz. There’ll probably be an under-display fingerprint scanner and 12 to 16GB of RAM with UFS 3.1 storage.

Many rumors say the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SOC will power this phone. As mentioned before, it will ship with Android 13 (Realme UI 4) out of the box since Realme has already launched phones in India with Android 13. Assuming a Chinese launch happens in January 2023, we can expect the phone to hit Indian markets sometime in March 2023.

The front camera is expected to be the new Sony IMX890 sensor, a slightly upgraded IMX766, and it has OIS too. The same obligatory 2MP macro lens and an 8MP ultra-wide are expected on the Neo 5.
