Poco F5 5G Specifications Leaked: 2K Display and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1

The POCO F series is Xiaomi’s sub-brand’s highest-end smartphone series. It packs a fantastic performance and a balanced smartphone at a price like never before. The journey of the POCO F series is currently on the POCO F4. Its successor, the POCO F5 5G, has now surfaced online.

The POCO F4 was not a massive upgrade over the POCO F3. That’s why many users did not consider upgrading their POCO F3. However, the POCO F5 might be worth upgrading. It comes with some significant improvements over the last gen. These include a better display, a way better chipset, and more.

As per a recent leak from Xiaomiui, the POCO F5 will have the model number “M11A.” Similarly, the model number in the IMEI Database is “23013PC75G.” Its codename is “Mondrian.” Usually, the IMEI Database model number can be decoded. When we interpret the model number, we find that the POCO F5 might launch in January 2023 (23=2023 and 01=January). The device will also launch in China as Redmi K60 with the model number “23013RK75C.” The POCO F5 will launch only in the Indian and global markets.

POCO F5 Leaked Specifications

The POCO F5, with the model number M11A and the codename Mondrian, will launch soon in global and Indian markets. This model will have a 2K resolution (1440×3200) OLED panel. This is the first time we will see a 2K panel on a POCO device. The display will also have a 120Hz refresh rate and 1000 nits of brightness for excellent outdoor visibility. That’s pretty much all we know about the display.

As for the chip, the POCO F5 may boast the 2022 flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. This will be a giant leap in performance and efficiency over the Snapdragon 870 on the POCO F4. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is built on a smaller 4nm node by TSMC, resulting in excellent performance with maximum efficiency. The CPU also has eight cores that can boost up to 3.2GHz. The 900MHz Adreno 730 GPU is no comparison with the Adreno 650 GPU on the Snapdragon 870.

That’s pretty much what we know about the POCO F5 5G so far. It is indeed an exciting smartphone. The device will first debut in China as the Redmi K60 and then step foot in other regions like Europe and India. So, what do you think of the POCO F5? Let us know in the comments section below.
