Moto G100 with Snapdragon 870 SoC: The International Moto Edge S?

A few days ago, Motorola launched the Edge S in China with the flagship Snapdragon 870 while maintaining a low price tag. Rumors claim that this smartphone will launch in the international market soon. And now we have a Geekbench leak about a Moto G100 device. The smartphone’s specifications reveal it to be the international version of the Moto Edge S device.

The Edge S was nicknamed Nio before it was officially unveiled in China. Now, the Geekbench listing shows the Moto G100 as Nio. Also, the listing reveals that the processor of the G100 has a maximum clock speed of 3.19 GHz and a base frequency of 1.8 GHz, further confirming that we are indeed getting a Snapdragon 870 with the Moto G100.

The Moto Edge S has the tag of a flagship killer due to its flagship Snapdragon 870 processor. It features a 6.7-inch FHD+ IPS LCD panel with a refresh rate of 90Hz. We get 6GB and 8GB of RAM options along with 128GB and 256GB of fast UFS 3.1 storage. We see a 64MP primary shooter, a 16MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP depth sensor in the rear. As for the front, we get a 16MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultrawide sensor. There is a 5,000 mAh cell powering the smartphone, which supports 20W fast charging.

On the Geekbench listing, the Moto G100 scores a single-core score of 957 points and a multi-core score of 2815. Reports claim the Moto G100 may launch in the first quarter of 2021. A recent report even claims that we will see the Moto G100 launching in India in February itself.

If the Moto G100 also comes with a price tag similar to that of the Edge S, then this will definitely be the smartphone to beat under 30,000 INR. This might just be the flagship killer of 2021.
