Google Pixel 4a May Arrive with 3140 mAh Battery and 18W Fast Charging Support

Google plans to launch its new mid-range pixel smartphone, which will likely be dubbed the Google Pixel 4a. Recently, the company has discontinued its previous affordable smartphone, which includes the Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL. So, it looks like Pixel 4a is now ready to replace Pixel 3a.

After FCC, IMDA, and BIS certification, Google Pixel 4a has picked up one more necessary certification. On June 30, the G025J model, which is believed to be Google Pixel 4a, received Taiwan’s NCC certification.

The NCC certification indirectly reveals Pixel 4a’s battery and charging capacity. The NCC listing mentions charger model numbers as TC G1001-US and TC G1000-US. Battery model numbers are also listed as G025J-B(Li-ion, ATL cell) and G025J-B(Li-ion, Lishen cell).

We were able to get an image of the TC G1000-US charger that reveals charging capacity as 5V / 3A and 9V / 2A output. So, Google Pixel 4a will likely arrive with 18W fast charging support.

Now, we have started searching for the G025J-B model on other battery certification websites. When we checked the TUV Rheinland certification database, we found the G025J-B model with a battery capacity of 3140 mAh (typical) / 3080 mAh (rated). So, Google Pixel 4a will likely come with a 3140 mAh battery. That means we will get a slightly higher battery capacity than its predecessor, Pixel 3a.

We have been waiting for the Google Pixel 4a to launch since May 2020. However, its release has been reportedly delayed due to several factors, including the COVID-19 pandemic. At present, Google has not announced anything about the launch timeline. As the device has received certifications from multiple platforms, we can expect Google Pixel 4a will be launched very soon.

Other rumored features include a 5.81-inch Full HD+ OLED panel, a Single rear camera setup, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730 processor paired with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of Storage.
