List of Phones with Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2

Qualcomm, the renowned mobile chip manufacturer, has unveiled its latest mid-range chipset, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. This chipset is an upgrade to the previous Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and is expected to power upcoming smartphones in 2023. This article will list some of the latest smartphones equipped with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset.

Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 Specifications

The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 is built on TSMC’s 4nm fabrication process, as used for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It features a core layout similar to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 but at a lower clock frequency. This lower frequency is offset by the Adreno GPU, which Qualcomm claims to have up to 2x improved performance and will presumably be more power-efficient than the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.

The chipset’s CPU comprises 1X Kryo Prime core based on Arm Cortex X2 technology clocked at 2.91GHz, 3X Kryo Performance cores based on Arm Cortex A710 clocked at 2.49GHz, and 4X Kryo Efficiency cores based on Arm Cortex A510 clocked at 1.8GHz. This combination of core types is expected to balance power and efficiency.

The Adreno GPU, which remains unspecified, supports Vulkan 1.1 and several Snapdragon Elite Gaming features, including Adreno Frame Motion Engine. It also supports video playback for several codecs, including HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Additionally, the chipset supports 10-bit color depth, HDR10, and HDR10+ on its display.

The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 also features Qualcomm’s Spectra Triple 18-bit image signal processor (ISP) capable of up to 200MP photo capture. The chipset supports up to 32 MP triple camera @ 30 FPS, up to 64 MP + 36 MP dual camera @ 30 FPS, and up to 108 MP single camera @ 30 FPS, all with zero shutter lag.

Another notable thing to mention is the Snapdragon X62 5G modem-RF system, which supports global 5G bands and up to 4.4 Gbps download speeds. The chipset also has a dedicated Trust Management Engine, Android Ready SE for digital car keys and IDs, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3 support.
