The Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor, which was launched in January 2020, is being housed in entry-level smartphones. The company has significantly improved this new processor compared to its previous generation. The CPU performance has increased up to 70% while there is a rise of 60% in the GPU performance, delivering smoother user experiences. The main highlight of the processor is it comes with NavIC, India’s navigation system that allows the devices to track location faster and more accurately. The 3rd generation Qualcomm AI Engine makes the processor smarter and power-efficient than its previous generation. Entry-level 4G smartphones house the Snapdragon 460 chip. Hence, we have prepared a list of 4G smartphones with the Snapdragon 460 processor to buy in 2020.

The Snapdragon 460 SoC is an Octa-core CPU built with 11nm process technology. Manufactured with the Qualcomm Kyro 240 CPU, the processor shows a clock speed up to 1.8 GHz. This shows a faster performance on the device. Talking about the GPU unit of the processor, it comes with Qualcomm Adreno 610 GPU, which shows an increase of 60% more graphics rendering speed than the other 400-series Snapdragon processor. Together with the CPU and GPU unit, the Snapdragon 460 processor provides a seamless and smooth user experience.

The camera unit is a Qualcomm Spectra 340 image signal processor, which supports up to 16+16MP dual cameras or 25MP single camera sensors. The camera sensor can capture slow-motion video up to 1080p at 60fps. Additionally, the camera has features like HEIF photo capture and HEIC photo capture. Moreover, the processor has a Qualcomm Snapdragon X11 LTE modem, which shows a download speed of up to 390Mbps and an upload speed of 150Mbps. The SoC has other features such as Bluetooth 5.1, a NavIC satellite support system, USB-C, and Qualcomm Aqstic audio.

Oppo A53

The Oppo A53 has been launched with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 chip. The device has a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display refresh rate is 90Hz. The smartphone has a triple rear camera setup with a 16MP primary lens and a 2MP secondary lens. In comparison, the front side has a punch-hole selfie shooter with a 16MP lens and f/2.0 aperture. There is a fingerprint scanner mounted at the back of the device. The handset comes with only one variant, which is 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. However, the internal storage can be extended up to 256 GB with the help of a micro SD card. The Oppo A53 is packed with a 5,000mAh battery and runs on ColorOS 7.2, based on Android 10. The device supports 18W fast charger with a USB Type-C charging port.

Vivo Y20

The Vivo Y20 comes with a price tag of Rs 12,990 in India. It is available in a 4GB + 64GB storage variant in India. The two color options are Obsidian Black and Dawn White. It runs on FunTouch OS 10.5 custom skin, based on Android. The device packs a waterdrop-style notch 6.51-inch HD+ display with 720×1600 pixels resolution. We get Qualcomm’s 460 processor under the hood. For optics, it sports a 13MP main shooter with f/2.2 aperture. There are two additional units: 2MP +2MP. For selfies, we get an 8MP front camera with f/1.8 aperture. The Y20 draws power from a large 5,000 mAh battery that can be charged with an 18W charger.

The V20i comes with similar specifications as Y20 apart from memory configuration and color options. We get a 3GB + 64GB storage model of Y20i that is priced at Rs 11,490. It is available in Dawn White and Nebula Blue colors. The remaining features include 460 SoC, a 5000 mAh battery, and a 13MP main camera.

Nokia 3.4

The Nokia 3.4 has not been officially announced by HMD Global, but recently, it has been spotted on Geekbench, revealing some of its specifications. The device is likely to be launched in September 2020. The Nokia 3.4 will house the Octa-core Snapdragon 460 processor. The device is expected to come with 3GB RAM and Android 10 out of the box. Regarding the Geekbench score, the device got 252 points in the single-core and 1259 points in the multi-core test. Nothing much is known about the Nokia 3.4 yet.

Moto E7 Plus

Motorola will soon launch a new mid-range smartphone, which will be dubbed the Moto E7 Plus. The device will come with a waterdrop notch screen with a fingerprint scanner on the rear side, according to the leaked images reported. The E7 Plus will pack a Snapdragon 460 chipset. The device is expected to come with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. It will be powered by a 5000mAh battery with a 10W charging capacity. There could be a dual-camera setup on the rear side with 48MP as the primary camera. The device will come in orange and blue color variants.

OnePlus Clover

According to a report by Androidcentral, OnePlus will announce its first entry-level phone (code-named “OnePlus Clover”) in the US with a price tag of around $200. It will be fueled by the Snapdragon 460 and will pack a massive 6000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The Clover will sport a 6.52-inch HD+ (720×1,560 pixels) display and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. We will see a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 13MP primary sensor along with an f/2.2 aperture and two 2MP sensors with an f/2.4 aperture on top.
