OPPO Find X Launched with three Pop-up Cameras: Price, Specifications

The new smartphone bring an innovative technology and ditches the notch design

After months of teasers and leaks, OPPO has finally launched the Find X smartphone and isn’t like anything we have seen before. The Oppo Find X is launched four years later since the last phone in the Find series. Thankfully the smartphone isn’t just an Android device to follow a top-notch design. It brings one of the most innovative designs and may well be the best-looking smartphone of this year beating the likes of Vivo NEX and Lenovo Z5.

At the first look, the one thing to notice is that there are no cut-outs for the front as well as the back camera. The display stretches up to the top with no bezel. When you switch on the camera app, a cleverly hidden middle section of the device motorizes up and reveals the front as well as the back camera. This new design makes the screen-to-body ratio to 92.95%, which is greater than any notched smartphone available currently.

However, the smartphones don’t come with a fingerprint sensor whether it is an under display or a standard one, and sorely relies on the Face recognition which means the top part will slide up everytime you unlock the phone. The Face recognition is based on 3D facial recognition hardware like the Mi 8 and iPhone X and not software based. While OPPO claims it takes just 0.5 seconds to pop up, we are not sure how it affects the battery performance.

Oppo Find X Specifications

As for the specs, the OPPO Find X features a 6.4 inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080p. Under the hood, it is powered by the top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.

In the optics department, the device sports a dual camera setup at the back of 16 MP + 20 MP configuration while offering a 25MP front camera for selfies and video calling. The Find X runs on company’s own Color OS built on top of Android 8.1 Oreo. It is backed by a 3,730 mAh battery which supports OPPO’s VOOV fast charging (and not Super VOOC). It has dual SIM feature and is globally compatible. The company claims this is because this is its first smartphone to launch in North America and Europe and is not limited to countries like China, India, Philippines, and other South Asian countries like before.

Oppo Find X Price & Availability

It will be available in Bordeaux Red and Glacier Blue colour options and comes with a price tag of around 700 EUR (Rs 55,000 approx). The phone was launched today in Paris and is set to launch in India on July 12. It will be available for pre-order in China from today.
