OPPO Find X Launched with three Pop-up Cameras: Price, Specifications

After months of teasers and leaks, OPPO has finally launched the Find X smartphone, which isn’t like anything we have seen before. The Oppo Find X was launched four years later as the last phone in the Find series. Thankfully, the smartphone isn’t just an Android device to follow a top-notch design. It brings one of the most innovative designs and may well be the best-looking smartphone of this year, beating the likes of Vivo NEX and Lenovo Z5.

At first look, one thing to notice is that there are no front and back camera cutouts. The display stretches up to the top with no bezel. When you switch on the camera app, the device’s cleverly hidden middle section motorizes up and reveals the front and back camera. This new design makes the screen-to-body ratio 92.95%, greater than any current notched smartphone.

However, the smartphones don’t come with a fingerprint sensor, whether under the display or a standard one and sorely rely on Face recognition, which means the top part will slide up every time you unlock the phone. Face recognition is not software-based but based on 3D facial recognition hardware like the Mi 8 and iPhone X. While OPPO claims it takes just 0.5 seconds to pop up, we are unsure how it affects battery performance.

Oppo Find X Specifications

As for the specs, the OPPO Find X features a 6.4-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080p. Under the hood, it is powered by the top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.

In the optics department, the device sports a dual camera setup at the back of 16 MP + 20 MP configuration while offering a 25MP front camera for selfies and video calling. The Find X runs on the company’s Color OS, built on Android 8.1 Oreo. It is backed by a 3,730 mAh battery, which supports OPPO’s VOOV fast charging (and not Super VOOC). It has a dual SIM feature and is globally compatible. The company claims this is because this is its first smartphone to launch in North America and Europe and is not limited to countries like China, India, the Philippines, and other South Asian countries like before.

Oppo Find X Price & Availability

It will be available in Bordeaux Red and Glacier Blue color options and comes with a price tag of around 700 EUR. The phone was launched today in Paris and is set to launch in India on July 12. It will be available for pre-order in China from today.
