In its home market, Chinese smartphone manufacturer OPPO is geared up for the launch of the OPPO A5. Today, the Oppo A5 (OPPO PBAM00) appeared on the China telecom website with full specifications, renders, price, and release date. China Telecom is one of China’s largest carriers, which makes this info next to the official. The device was also spotted in TENAA last week, revealing some key specs. The smartphone feels quite similar to the RealMe 1 smartphone launched in India, except for some small differences like dual cameras.
As per the China telecom listing, the OPPO A5 features a 6.2-inch display with a resolution of HD+ (1520 x 720 pixels). Oppo A5 is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset clocked at 1.8 GHz coupled with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. Also, Oppo A5 supports microSD card.
In the optics department, the device sports a dual camera setup at the rear, stacked horizontally in the top left corner. It has a 13 MP primary and a 2 MP secondary camera sensor for depth sensing. It offers an 8 MP camera for selfies and video calling on the front. The front camera comes with AI Beauty 2.0 for enhancing selfies.
It runs on ColorOS 5.0, built on top of Android 8.1 Oreo. A 4,100 mAh battery powers this device. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, VoLTE, dual SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and more. There is no fingerprint sensor, meaning it will support Face Unlocking.
The OPPO A5 is available in Mirror Blue, Mirror Powder, and Mirror Red color options and comes at a price tag of 1,499 Yuan (Rs 15,500 approx), putting it against the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 5 Pro, Honor 7X. Tianyi Telcom Terminals will sell this device from July 5, 2018. Currently, there is no word about the launch outside the Chinese markets.
